Throwing Rice at Weddings….

Throwing rice at weddings is a tradition that goes back centuries when grains were thrown on a couple, representing fertility and a prosperous union.  Birdseed is a great alternative, being more eco-friendly, but I like this idea even better……

This idea comes from Martha Stewart:   Instead of throwing rice, toss lavender instead!  It smells wonderful, looks pretty, and is earth friendly!  Wrapped in pages of beloved books, the sentiment is sweet and personal, too!

You might find old books at yard sales and library book sales, or even better, use some of your old books that you are willing to part with – for a great reason, of course!   Here are a few places online to find bulk lavender online:

Starwest Botanicals Organic Lavender Flowers (Extra Grade), 1-pound Bag

Natural Dried Lavender Flowers – per pound

Organic French Lavender Dried Lavander Buds – 1/2 Pound – Dry Flowers
